Finding a New HomeLanding in a new country and getting to basically choose anywhere we want to live is, in a word, overwhelming.
Very exciting, yes. But intimidating also. So we set off on an adventure! We stayed near Heathrow and treated this spot as a hub. Then we ventured out from there and visited several cities, all within the commuter belt of London. We went north to St. Alban’s, south to Guildford, west to Reading and Windsor… it was a busy couple of weeks to say the least. However nothing had really jumped out at us, no connection to one location over another. But then a dear friend reached out to me and suggested a few towns we had yet to consider - including one close to her - and upon our first visit, we fell completely in love. A beautiful spot south of London, close enough to access the city but far enough away to not feel the hustle and bustle. And also a short journey to the sea which delights me upon every sighting. (This girl loves the ocean. Being from a landlocked state makes this island even more wonderful.)
As they say, when you know, you know.
